ASHIC Patient Service

The ASHIC Patient Service is a ‘bridge to unfulfilled destinations’. Under this program, ASHIC does a number of things, such as:

	Raise a pool of donations from individuals and offer financial support to patients facing temporary difficulties in meeting the expenses of the required treatment.
	In some cases, ASHIC staff members approach drug stores/ pharmaceutical establishments for donation of medicine for free or at subsidized cost.
	ASHIC tries to fulfill the patient's desires - with a new toy or a small gift or even in fulfilling cravings for particular foods.
	ASHIC maintains an updated database of childhood cancer patients at the national hospitals and follows up with the families to offer moral support or to attend to their needs as much as possible.
	On behalf of parents, ASHIC takes up matters with attending doctors and nurses on a regular basis.

This service is designed to be a complement to all of ASHIC’s other programs and has managed to touch the lives of hundreds of children.
