ASHIC Somobyathi (Compassionate Friends) Program
Introduced
in 1995, Somobyathi is a monthly counseling session for affected families.
This program aims to encourage an exchange of thoughts and experiences
and to clarify concerns. ASHIC invites renowned doctors & counselors at
these programs, who actively participate in the discussions and the following
Q&A sessions.
Since 2002, this program is conducted at the Shelter, where
it is open to all resident families and also to new families looking to be a
part of the ASHIC family. The special feature of the program is the
encouraged and increased dialogue between the parents and doctors, which have
helped to educate the parents and also to ease their minds about their
children’s conditions.
