Who We Are

ASHIC Foundation was established after the Choudhury family lost their youngest son, Ashiq, to cancer when he was only three.  In 1994, it was the first organization to formally address the needs of children living with cancer in Bangladesh, and since then its modest and organic growth has borne testament to the dedication of the team behind the scenes.

ASHIC Foundation dedicates its energies in serving the needs of children living with cancer in Bangladesh.  We believe that these children, already in turmoil on too many fronts, need a wholesome approach towards life.  It is through medicine and play that a child can find the strength to make the arduous journey back to healthy living.  In the quest of beating the deadly disease, the children should not have to forget to live.  And keeping this in mind, in addition to providing any and all support possible in the medical arena, ASHIC also focuses on the child's emotional health.
