We've had the first day of the archery competition at Paris 2024 and already a world record has fallen. Lim Si-hyeon of South Korea set a new world record in the women's ranking round. She scored 694 points from a possible 720, beating the previous record by 2 points. South Koreans also performed well in the men's competition. Kim Woojin topped the table with a scored of 686, with Kim Je Deok scoring 682.
There is a break in the action for a couple of days but the archery will return on July 28 with the women's team competition. One eye-catching meetup is Team GB versus Germany in the first elimination match.

Each archer gets to shoot 72 arrows over two halves, which determines their seeding for the final event. The combined score of the archers decides the seeding for the men's team and women's team. The mixed team event seeding is decided by the score of the best men's and women's individual scores.
The top four seeded teams will be directly sent to the quarter-final, while the next eight will play in the Round of 16. In the mixed event, only the top 16 seeds will qualify.
