Mourning Mrs. Salma Choudhury

In a tragic turn of events, Mrs. Salma Choudhury - Founder Chairperson of ASHIC Foundation - passed away in the early hours of January 24, 2025. Since her stage 4 cancer diagnosis in early November, her failed treatment did not give her even 3 months with her loved ones. She breathed her last in Chennai, India, where she was being treated. At the time of her death, she was held till the end by her husband of 52 years, Afzal Choudhury, and her loving daughter Maheen. Her son, Asif, could not be next to her.

It is impossible to encapsulate in words what her loss means to her family and those who knew her. Her warmth and compassion won hearts all over the world. The ASHIC children and their families thrived on her love. She will be deeply missed.
