Social Awareness
Since its beginning ASHIC has worked tirelessly to increase the social awareness for Childhood Cancer in Bangladesh, including advocating for a database for children affected by cancer in the country. Over the last three decades, ASHIC has hosted conferences, spoken at press conferences, organized rallies, promoted school programs, offered professional training and much more, to help raise the social acceptance and understanding of the disease.
Now, there are many trained professionals, increased capacity building and expanding depth of services catered for childhood cancer in Bangladesh. Survival rates have improved from less than 5% in 1994 to close to 40% today, and getting better. As a pioneer in life-changing services, ASHIC remains at the forefront of raising the voice for our cancer warriors.
