ASHIC Receives Tax Exemption Status by Bangladesh National Board of Revenue
For the last three decades, ASHIC Foundation has been a trusted name in childhood cancer care in Bangladesh. Over its tenure, ASHIC has stood next to thousands of cancer warriors as they navigated their cancer journey. Started from the extreme personal tragedy of Afzal & late Salma Choudhury losing their youngest son to cancer when he was only three, ASHIC has gone far beyond a small family effort. With support from many donors, ASHIC has gone from strength to strength, introducing many innovative programs for childhood cancer in Bangladesh.
It’s a matter of great pleasure that under the measure announced in the FY2026-27 budget in Bangladesh, taxpayers will be able to claim tax relief on donations made to ASHIC from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2030. The tax exemption is valid for individual donors, and can also be applied towards countries with dual tax treaties. ASHIC is grateful to the Government for recognizing our work as being important for the community, and creating this incentive to increase donor participation in the country.
We are excited to grow with our local communities and continue to provide exemplary and subsidized services to the neediest children going through cancer treatment. Please get in touch with us to learn how you can help and apply the deduction to your taxes.
